I'm pretty sure the drone I received is *factory* refurbished; as in, refurbished by DJI themselves; because the thing was sealed, had all of the packaging / stickers/shipping fixtures including the little labels that hold the propellers in place and stuff, and THE BATTERIES EACH HAVE ZERO CHARGE CYCLES AND ARE BRAND NEW.

As far as the drone itself, it's the coolest thing on the planet. it's SUPER stable; you can practically smack the thing while it's in front of you and it will just go right back to where it was. The camera produces absolutely incredible looking footage even in auto mode.
The return to home feature is REALLY useful - even in the last 36 hours I've flown it WAY out of my line of sight, blocks away from where I am, no clue how to get back, and you just hit the Auto-Return-To-Home button and it goes up to your RTH altitude (100 or 150m I think by default?), then comes over to right above you 100m up, then lowers and lands EXACTLY where it took off from. When I say EXACTLY, i mean it. I took the thing off from right in front of me on the ground sitting on the pavement, and flew a few blocks away. I hit the RTH button, sit the controller down on my lap hands-free, and about 2 or 3 minutes later the drone just.....showed up. coolest thing ever i swear.

Flight time on the batteries lasts super duper long. I was out there at the park for a few hours on a little picnic my GF and I went on; and I was flying the thing pretty much constantly for an hour or two with the three batteries.

What a product! I bought this on a whim, and I was pleasantly surprised. There was no assembly required and the three batteries came charged. The instructions we clear and easy to fallow. As a complete novice I had an amazing experience, the controls are intuitive and fluid. The drone never felt unwieldy or out of control. I’m sure there are more advanced things I can learn the more I use it but from the time I turned it on to the end of my flying experience I was grinning ear to ear. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking into getting a drone.

Not easy to fly. Battery life isn't great.

The mini 4 is a solid option for the price range. The quality of photos and videos is dang near unmatched.

What a great project. If you are wanting a great introduction to drones, this should be your first stop. Plenty of videos online, works seamlessly with Ardupilot, Mission Planner, paired easily with my TX16s Mk2. I added a fatshark fpv system, a raspi 4b, servos, and a telemetry unit. For the money, you get a drone used by researchers on autonomous flight, drone swarm shows, ai, advanced robotics and so much more. If you're a researcher or tinkerer this is a great little unit.
